Akasha Center is an organization in Cyprus offering a wide range of activities in Yoga, Tantra, Arts, Complementary
and Alternative therapies by qualified professionals.
Each department of the center includes a number of classes, courses, seminars, workshops and one-to-one sessions, and covers a variety of subjects from ancient, contemporary and interdisciplinary practices.
Galileo once said: "There is nothing we can teach to people, we can only help them discover it within themselves." This is also our intention: to provide effective tools and methods through yoga, tantra, arts and holistic therapies for the development of human potential into the path of self-Transformation and Evolution. We do not offer conventional medical treatment. Yoga, Meditation, Tantra, Arts, Holistic Therapies, etc., have therapeutic properties on the human body and psyche in a simple way as an alternative self-therapy.
I focus on teaching Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga in the tradition of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. I usually offer led primary series
classes, but also I teach Mysore-style (self-guided classes with physical adjustments) and offer workshops on the ashtanga method.
Each of the ashtanga series comprises a dynamic sequence of interlinked poses cultivating strength, flexibility, stamina, and focus. In my teaching, I seek to convey both the foundations of this method (based on the coordination of breath, movement, and gaze) and the joy derived from body movement. I provide appropriate alternatives to different bodies and their needs. My approach is heavily influenced by principles of alignment informed by Iyengar Yoga and a nuanced understanding of anatomy.

Yoga is worldwide known as a natural way to maximize your potential for physical health and mental peace.
consist of the practice of the traditional physical poses(asana),breathing practice(pranayama) and yoga nidra(relaxation). Our class approach highlights the importance of the flow from one posture to another and the link between breath and movement. This is called Vinyasa. The rhythm of the practice teaches us how to embrace the rhythm of life! Yoga has taught me to honor my body, how to have a strong body and how to breath, to let go of things that no longer serve me, to be present and ok with it, and that I can achieve more than I think... l simply want to share this with people practicing with me... All you really need to begin practicing yoga is your body, mind and a bit of curiosity! Get in touch for details... Namaste, Maria
Additionally to Vinyasa and Power Yoga classes, private and semi-private yoga classes are available upon appointment.
Corporate Yoga workshops upon request. Classes aim to encourage a deeper body-mind connection through attention to breath whilst providing a full body workout increasing stamina, strenght and flexibility, improving posture and confidence as well as aiding weight control.
Based on more than 7000 years old Yoga philosophy, we are a holistic, self improving and self healing center.
have professional groups and private Yoga programs suitable for all ages, both males and females including children.
The programs include practical Asana (physical postures), Pranayama (breathing techniques), Dhyana (meditation), Mudra (hands position), Bandha (if their duration can be increased, then where is the fear of death? Yogataravali, Sutra 5; Sri Adi Shankaracharya).
Our main purpose and joy is to help modern people to achive a better life, stressless mood and balancing themselves using natural ways and ancient techniques. The Yoga itself is well known for its benefits on the physical, emotional and mental level.
No more Stress! Add yoga to your life! We have all heard about yoga, but most of us don't know what it is and its
benefits. We all know that famous actors are after it passionately and we see some strange postures that yogis show like acrobatics. Reality is totally differentiated from what it is shown. Yoga means connection, union(in sanscrit language) and it means the connection with our higher self. When this achieved , we feel bliss , an indescribable peace in mind , where there is love and attraction of positive situations in our life. Positive thinking is important in yoga , but more important is that yogis found some technics to convert negative thinking into positive. Another think which characterizes people is stress. Its the pressure of daily life. Yoga and stress are opposite energies and they cannot co-exist. Flexibility and toned body are definate results. WEBSITE : http://www.yogacyprus.net/
