I have been studying & practicing yoga for over 20 years, and trained to
become a yoga instructor with two of Vanda Scaravelli's acolytes, Elizabeth Lutz Pauncz & Sandra Sabatini. I have been teaching for nine years and do so in various studios in Florence. I continue to deepen my knowledge of the body through personal practice, yearly teacher-oriented seminars, as well as partaking in courses & seminars in other styles of yoga, Massage/Mind-Body Tecniques and in Pilates. I have received the a Certificate of Recognition as Yoga Teacher by the Italian Sport Assoc. UISP, Bologna, Area Discipline Orientali.
Vanda’s teachings, as Elizabeth explains, “are based on mindfully connecting to the breath in order to relax the body and thus move without stress or aggressiveness, it is quite unique in the field of Yoga. Furthermore, gravity is tapped to find a natural means to lengthen the spine. It is a calming and gratifying way to interact with oneself and with others.” Vanda studied personally with B.K.S. Iyengar & T.K.V Desikachar. She intuitively melded what she gleaned, working thus with gravity and breath: through this method one gains a deeper awareness of body, mind and breath.
