My passion is providing opportunities and information to facilitate healing of body, mind, and spirit.
as aerobic director at the YMCA in Topeka for over a decade. I am certified in Pilates, Yoga, and Yamuna Ball Rolling. I am also certified in Yamuna's Foot Fitness and am currently being certified in Body Logic. I have found this variety of mind/body education to be very effective in helping people relieve pain and discomfort and experience greater freedom of movement. I teach privately in a studio in downtown Topeka and also present workshops.
Healing must involve the whole person. The mind, body, and spirit cannot be treated separately because each part so deeply affects the other parts. As I sought ways to get holistic wellness information to others, the miracle of the internet caught fire. My website is www.corefocuswellness.com. Please come visit me and join the conversation!

Yoga has the ability to tone and strengthen muscles. With regular practice, yoga can realign muscles and bones so that the body can function efficiently with a greater range of motion and comfort. Located in residential North Lawrence, Star Farm is tucked into a neighborhood filled with trees and friendly people.
It has eco-friendly bamboo floors, ceiling fans and bright windows. There are props a-plenty; cork blocks, mats with recycled content, straps, eye bags, bolsters, meditation cushions, Mexican blankets! It’s a beautiful ten minute walk across the bridge over the Kaw if you’re coming from downtown Lawrence. If you have four wheels there’s street parking and if you have two wheels we have a handrail to tie them to! Classes are currently being offered for beginner levels as well as experienced practitioners. Individual or small group sessions are available as well.
We opened our doors in August of 1999 with the hope of providing a communal atmosphere in which yoga in Lawrence could
flourish. The response has been wonderful. Our focus is Iyengar-method yoga classes, and one of our aims is to have several certified teachers. Three of our six teachers are Iyengar-certified, and others are preparing to go up for assessment. One of our teachers recently returned from her second trip to India, studying for two months with the Iyengars in Pune.
Gentle Strength Yoga with Karen Seibel, RN,RYT, offers you the opportunity to have individualized yoga lessons designed
just for you and your needs. I work with those with injuries, health problems, those going through cancer therapy and anyone desiring special attention. Great for the older adult, too. 20 years experience.
The ultimate goal of yoga practice includes Sananda Samadhi or Bliss according to the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. In
your private or group lesson we will flow through asana (posture) practice paying close attention to pranayam (breath) and drishti (gaze). We will learn to meditate during our practice, clearing the mind and creating space for peace, understanding and bliss.
