Retreat: Connecting to the elements by Hoyte de Ranitz

Give yourself time for nourishing your body, mind & heart, to flow in the moment and discover the spiritual Balinese culture and abundant nature. During this retreat we will work with the elements of earth, water, fire and air. By exploring on how the elements work together in our body & mind and learn how to balance them and create space in the body and stillness in the mind so we can listen to our inner voice. We will explore the elements inside as well as outside ourselves. Each day we will focus on a different element. The daily yoga practices will emphasize on grounding, flowing, burning and breathing to connect us to the different elements as vital parts of our yoga practice and daily life. Bali is a great place to really get close with the elements of nature During the retreat we include different activities such as nature walks in the mountains, meditation at the beach and ceremonies to fully experience the elements and enjoy the island and its highlights.

Hoyte de Ranitz is a Vinyasa yoga teacher and inspired practitioner of Jivamukti, Anusara and Iyengar yoga; Different yoga forms that share the same goal; Letting the energy in the body flow to establish a calm and balanced mind Born in Holland, Hoyte has lived in Seseh/ Bali (the village where Kura Kura is situated) for years and did his teachers trainings in Bali and Amsterdam. He has studied with teachers from different backgrounds like Alannah Kaivalya (Jivamukti yoga), Katiza Satya (Ashtanga), David Lurey (Vinyasa) and Anat Geiger(Dynamic Hatha). Hoyt’s classes are eclectic and sometimes challenging. Meditation in motion supported with music and always working towards balance & ‘feel-good factor’. Through union of movement (flow), asana (posture) and breath (prana) creating a balance in effort and relaxation, challenge and surrender to the moment of now. "You cannot do yoga. Yoga is your natural state. What you can do are yoga exercises, which may reveal to you where you are resisting your natural state." (Sharon Gannon)
